Toddler schedule
The NCCDC Toddler Program offers full-day, year-round care for toddlers who are 12 months (1 yr) to 3 years old. We offer 2, 3, 4 and 5 day schedules Monday through Friday.
Hours
The toddler room opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. Parents may drop off their children any time between 7:30 and 10:00 a.m.
Ratios
We have a maximum of 12 children in the toddler room and the state mandated ratio is 1 teacher to 4 toddlers, however we aim for a 1 to 3 ratio or better, whenever possible.
Daily Toddler Schedule
7:30 a.m. NCCDC Opens
7:30 -9 a.m. Free play: Each day a variety of art, dramatic play and tactile activities are available.
9 a.m. Morning snack: We provide a varied menu of organic dairy, fruits, vegetables, and grains.
9-10 a.m. Outside play: We have a large outdoor space and we play outside every day, rain or shine.
10-11 a.m. Small group time: The toddlers gather in small groups for art, music and more.
12-12:30 Lunch: Parents provide lunch for their children. We provide cow or soy milk.
12-3 p.m. Naptime: Magic! Yes, it is possible to get twelve toddlers to sleep each day.
3 p.m. Snack: We provide a varied menu of organic dairy, fruits, vegetables, and grains.
3-4 p.m. Outside play: If weather is especially bad, we may work out our energy in our large multi-purpose room.
4-5:30 p.m. Free play: Playdough, trucks & trains, dolls & dress up, blocks, balls, or books? The choices are endless.
5:30 p.m. NCCDC closes: We provide a small snack to quiet tummies until parents arrive.
